The TabPhish project (ERC Starting Grant No. 101300193; 2027-2032), led by Alan Seltzer at University College Dublin, will develop and apply a suite of novel dissolved gas isotope tracers to quantitatively reconstruct (1) the sources and fate of nitrate in groundwater systems, and (2) changes in water table depth in six groundwater system throughout Europe and North America on decadal to centennial timescales.

Analyses will be carried out in specialised laboratories at UCD, University of Heidelberg, UCLA, and WHOI, supported by a multi-disciplinary network of collaborators.
